It is a very important festival in India today, the day of Janmashtami. The festival of Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Krishna Janamashtami 2019 is being celebrated on August 23-24 and since morning people are enthusiastically sharing Happy Janmashtami wishes on social media. Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik who is known for his great art depicting all events and happenings has also made a sand art for this festive occasion. He made a beautiful sand creation at Bhubaneshwar airport. In his artwork, he has depicted Balgopal or young Lord Krishna in the sand. And any depiction of Lord Krishna would incomplete without his matka and flute. A lover of Makhan (white butter) he was fondly even called as Makhanchor. So along with Balgopal, he also writes Happy Janmashtami to pass on the greetings of the festive occasion.

People on social media have exchanged their greetings of Happy Janmashtami with him on Twitter. The festival is celebrated with much pomp and fervour in North India. Sudarsan Pattnaik is known for his timely creations on each of the big occasions. Just recently, he won the People's Choice Prize at International Sand Sculpting Championship 2019. His Pattnaik sculpted a sand art on plastic pollution with a message "Save the Ocean", was awarded in the US. He makes sand arts on various topics be it paying a tribute or congratulating someone on their achievements.
