The popularity of TikTok isn't unknown. No matter how much we complain about the cringe content on this video making and sharing app, we know that TikTok is addictive. Especially Indians are extremely fond of this app. Proof? Social video app TikTok has reached 1.5 billion downloads worldwide on the App Store as well as Google Play and India leads the chart with 466.8 million or about 31 per cent of all unique installs. TikTok did see a roller coaster ride. Right from being banned in India for reportedly containing XXX porn content to central government asking Google and Apple to drop TikTok application from their app stores to ultimately that ban being lifted from the social video sharing app. TikTok went through a lot. But looks like India really loves TikTok to the core. And why not? The app may contain such cringe-worthy content that may give you painful tears, they are also very entertaining at the same time.

Moreover, there is more to TikTok than just cringe. There are tutorial videos and clips that showcase amazing skills. But, who we kiddin'? We check TikTok to simply watch the overacting of teens or fake dying people by hands used as guns. It's cringe and but worth binge-watching. Basically, it is so bad that it is good!

In 2019, the app accumulated 614 million downloads, six per cent more than it had last year and India has been a fast adopter in 2019, driving up 277. Don't tell me Indians don't like TikTok.
