SpaceX has completed its acquisition of AI coding platform Cursor, bringing the company into the SpaceXAI team. Cursor will contribute to Grok’s development across software engineering and knowledge work, including Grok Build, Grok Bot and Grok API. Both companies confirmed the deal’s closure, but further integration details remain undisclosed.
Cursor has been acquired by SpaceX and will now form part of the SpaceXAI team. The deal closed today, with both companies confirming the move on X. Cursor posted: “Cursor is now part of @SpaceX. Today, we have officially closed our acquisition. We will join the @SpaceXAI team to help make Grok the world’s most useful AI and improve Grok Build, Grok Bot, Grok API, Cursor, and more. SpaceX has built some of the most inspiring and impressive technology in the world, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to become part of such a special company. Onwards.” SpaceXAI responded: “Welcome to the SpaceXAI team! Cursor will help us move faster on the path to the world’s most useful AI, starting with software engineering and expanding into knowledge work.” The acquisition brings Cursor’s coding capabilities into the broader Grok development effort under SpaceXAI.
