India's Porn Apps Crackdown: After ALTT Ban, Ekta Kapoor Issues Statement Distancing Herself From Controversial OTT Platform

Ekta Kapoor, who owns Balaji Telefilms, emphasised that both her and her mother stepped down from their roles over four years ago and denied any insinuations to the contrary. Apps and website showing porn content like ULLU, Hotshots Big Shots app, Desiflix, Boomex, Navarasa Lite, Gulab app, Kangan app, Bull app, Look Entertainment, Hitprime, Feneo etc are now facing the ban.

Following the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB)'s recent crackdown on 25 apps and websites accused of streaming objectionable and pornographic content - one of them being ALTT - Ekta Kapoor had issued a statement of public clarification where she says that she and her mother Shiba Kapoor have had no association with ALTT (formerly known as ALT Balaji) since June 2021.
