Atishi, newly elected leader of the Delhi AAP legislative party and Chief Minister, addressed the media for the first time since assuming office. She expressed her gratitude towards Arvind Kejriwal, the outgoing Chief Minister and AAP national convener, for entrusting her with this significant responsibility. Atishi highlighted the unique opportunity provided by Kejriwal’s leadership, noting that such a chance to become a Chief Minister as a first-time politician is rare and only possible within AAP. Reflecting on her journey from an ordinary background, she acknowledged that other parties might not have offered her even an election ticket. Atishi praised Kejriwal’s trust, having previously made her an MLA and minister before elevating her to the role of Chief Minister. She also conveyed her sadness at Kejriwal’s resignation, affirming that, despite the transition, he remains the true Chief Minister in the hearts of all AAP MLAs and Delhi's 2 crore residents.
