Activist Tushar Gandhi, the great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, was detained by Mumbai Police on October 10 while heading toward Mumbai's August Kranti Maidan to participate in a demonstration supporting the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests. The news was confirmed by the Cockroach Janta Party in a post on X (formerly Twitter). In response to the preventative detention, the CJP strongly criticised the action, remarking, "Now we know why the British feared Gandhi's Movement of Non-Violence so much," drawing a parallel between colonial-era suppression and the heavy-handed security measures deployed against peaceful dissenters. ‘Arrest Hone Ke Liye Aaya Hun’: Abhijeet Dipke’s Face-Off With Delhi Police Inside Flight Goes Viral (Video).
