In a disturbing incident, a BA third-year student who worked as a sweeper at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple was allegedly molested and gang-raped by her friend and his accomplices in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. The victim has accused eight men of rape and molestation over a fortnight. The victim said in her FIR that she had known one of the accused, Vansh Chaudhary from Sahadatganj, for the past four years. On August 16, Vansh, along with his friends Vinay and Shariq, allegedly took her to a guest house in Anguri Bagh under the pretext of a walk, where they raped her. Subsequently, they moved her to a garage in Banveerpur, where Vansh raped her again, and his friend Shiva molested her while intoxicated. The victim remained in the clutches of the accused until August 18, when Vinay left her near Devkali bypass. The ordeal continued on the night of August 22 and 23, when Vansh and Vinay allegedly raped her again in the same garage. The Cantt police station has registered a case based on her complaint.
