Bombay High Court Says Employer Has To Be Sympathetic Towards Pregnant Working Women; Directs AAI To Grant Maternity Benefits to Woman
The division bench of Justices AS Chandurkar and Jitendra Jain observed while dealing with a petition by a woman who challenged the rejection of maternity benefits by AAI on the ground that she was not eligible for a grant of maternity leave.
The Bombay High Court on Friday, May 10, said that an employer has to be sympathetic towards pregnant working women. The court observed while ordering the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to grant maternity benefits to a woman. The division bench of Justices AS Chandurkar and Jitendra Jain observed while dealing with a petition by a woman who challenged the rejection of maternity benefits by AAI on the ground that she was not eligible for a grant of maternity leave.
