DK Shivakumar, the deputy chief minister of Karnataka, slapped a Congress worker during an election campaign in Haveri on Saturday, May 4. The incident took place when DK Shivakumar visited Haveri to support Vinoda Asooti, the Congress's Lok Sabha candidate from Dharwad. In the now-viral video, a local congress leader can be seen welcoming Shivakumar as he gets out of his vehicle in Savanur. Allauddin Maniar, a member of the municipality, can be seen attempting to place his hands on Shivakumar's shoulders. The clip showed Shivakumar slapping Maniar at this point.
