The ban, which extends to online deliveries, will remain in effect until January 1, 2025. The order, issued on October 14, comes in light of concerns over deteriorating air quality, particularly during the festive season when firecracker use traditionally peaks. The notification cites the government's commitment to public health and the environment, invoking powers under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act of 1981.
