The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a flash flood warning for the Saurashtra and Kutch regions, effective August 30. The warning comes after a low to moderate flash flood threat was observed over several watersheds and neighbourhoods in the Kachchh district during the last six hours. The weather office said that Amreli, Bhavnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Rajkot, Morbi, and Kachchh districts are at risk of flash floods. A moderate flash flood risk over these areas in the next 24 hours, IMD predicted. Surface runoff and inundation may occur in fully saturated soils and low-lying areas due to expected rainfall.
