Himachal Pradesh Rains: Shimla Landslide Toll Climbs to 16, Five Persons Missing; Rescue Operation Underway (Watch Video)

In Kangra, a combined rescue effort by the Indian Air Force and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is underway to rescue trapped residents after downstream villages in the Fatehpur and Indora sub-divisions were inundated by excess water discharged from Pong Dam. With the recovery of two remains on Friday, the death toll from the Shimla temple landslide has risen to 16. Since Monday, rain-related tragedies have claimed 23 lives, while 80 deaths have been recorded across Himachal Pradesh.
