As the Kanwar Yatra 2025 begins Friday, Delhi Traffic Police has issued an extensive advisory to manage the anticipated surge of Shiva devotees, or Kanwariyas, entering the capital. Pilgrims are expected from borders like Wazirabad, Loni, NH-24, Kalindi Kunj, and Dhaula Kuan.
As the Kanwar Yatra 2025 begins Friday, Delhi Traffic Police has issued an extensive advisory to manage the anticipated surge of Shiva devotees, or Kanwariyas, entering the capital. Pilgrims are expected from borders like Wazirabad, Loni, NH-24, Kalindi Kunj, and Dhaula Kuan. Congestion-prone areas include Mukarba Chowk, Nangloi, Peeragarhi, Ring Road, Mathura Road, and Shahdara. Authorities advise avoiding key routes such as NH-24, Road No. 56, Kalindi Kunj, Badarpur Border, and Majnu Ka Tila. Entry points into Delhi will include Apsara, Bhopura, Kalindi Kunj, Ghazipur, Chilla, and Loni borders. Vehicles from Model Town, NIB, and Taj Highway may be diverted to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Entry from Loni, Anand Vihar, and Seemapuri into Ghaziabad will be restricted. Additional measures include QR code stickers for eateries, drone surveillance, and strict bans on meat and alcohol along the Yatra routes to ensure smooth and safe proceedings.
