In a bizarre incident in Madhya Pradesh, two religious storytellers (Kathavachaks) allegedly engaged in a physical fight in Rewa. A video surfaced online showing the two storytellers (Kathavachaks) allegedly hitting each other as onlookers watch. It is alleged that the two clashed over who would narrate the religious story (Katha) to a group of devotees. As per reports, the incident occurred outside Rewa’s famous Chirahula Hanuman Temple. It is reported that one storyteller (Kathavachak) was in the middle of discussing the details regarding the Katha with the devotees gathered outside a temple when another storyteller interrupted them and offered to narrate the story (Katha) at a lower cost.
