The mishap occurred late last evening during a river-crossing exercise in Daulat Beg Oldie, Ladakh. The deceased Army personnel include a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and four jawans. The soldiers were reportedly swept away while attempting to cross the river in a T-72 tank near the Nyoma-Chushul area.
