According to a report, police have arrested Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru, chief of Murugha mutt in Chitradurga, after a case was lodged against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 for allegedly sexually abusing high school girls.
Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru, chief of Murugha mutt in Chitradurga, who was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 for allegedly sexually abusing high school girls, has been arrested, reported CNN News 18. However, he made public appearance hours after the News18 report. According to the complaint, the pontiff used to sexually abuse high school girls, who were residing in a hostel run by the mutt.
