A devastating road accident claimed the lives of nine members of the same family, including several children, in Shivaji Nagar, Dindori, late Friday night. The victims were traveling in a Maruti XL6, returning from a social gathering, when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road and plunged into a water-filled roadside well. Local authorities and rescue teams, including swimmers and crane operators, worked through the night to retrieve the vehicle. By the time the car was pulled out around 12:15 AM, all nine occupants had succumbed to drowning. The Dindori police have registered a case and initiated a technical investigation to determine if the crash was caused by a mechanical failure or driver error.
