In response to the NEET paper leak controversy, the Education Ministry on Saturday dismissed National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Subodh Kumar Singh. Karnataka's retired IAS officer Pradeep Singh Kharola has been appointed as his replacement. Singh's services have been placed on "compulsory wait" by the Department of Personnel and Training. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the change. The NTA, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education, conducts exams such as NEET and UGC-NET.
