The couple made this statement a day after the apex court refused to grant legal rights to the LGBTQIA+ community in India for same-sex marriage. "Yesterday hurt. Today, @utkarsh__saxena and I went back to the court that denied our rights, and exchanged rings. So this week wasn't about a legal loss, but our engagement. On Tuesday, a five-judge Constitution Bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud ruled in a 3:2 verdict against giving constitutional validity to same-sex marriages. The top court said it is for Parliament to formulate legislation on it.
