Bangladesh media reported that Shoaib Ali, who is commonly known as 'Tiger Shoaib', a big fan of the Bangladeshi cricket team, was harassed by Indian fans in Pune as the two sides met in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on October 19. In a video that has emerged, a group of fans wearing the Indian cricket team jersey were seen tearing open a stuffed tiger toy and throwing it in the stands. Later on, Ali was seen holding the damaged stuffed toy. Bangladesh cricket team is also referred to as the 'Tigers' hence, fans who support them often are seen carrying items that denote the animal.
