Gautam Gambhir Unlikely to Coach Team India, KKR Mentor Hints at Staying On With the Franchise Post IPL 2024 Title Victory (Watch Video)
Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir opened up about his future plans with the franchise and believes that KKR needs to win three more trophies to become the most successful side in the cash rich league.
Gautam Gambhir added yet another IPL trophy to his cabinet after he won the Indian Premier League 2024 title as the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders. He has won two trophies with the franchise as a captain in 2012 and 2014 as well. However, despite a successful IPL 2024 triumph, Gambhir still believes that his goal has not been achieved and it will be fulfilled when he makes the Knight Riders the best franchise in the cash-rich league. GG had a conversation with Sportskeeda and spoke about his ambitious thoughts. This interaction also cleared the air of him becoming the India head coach and it looks like GG wishes to stay with KKR only. If Gambhir continues as KKR's mentor he cannot coach Team India due to the conflict of interest between BCCI and the Knight Riders.
