A hilarious meme-fest was triggered on social media after Gulbadin Naib went down with 'cramps' during the Afghanistan vs Bangladesh ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 match on Tuesday, June 25. This incident took place in the 12th over of the second innings when Afghanistan head coach Jonathan Trott had asked the players to slow down a bit with the side ahead of Bangladesh on DLS. As Trott made the signal, Naib noticed it and went down, clutching his legs and fielding at slips. This did not amuse Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan, who walked up to talk to him as he was escorted out of the field. A rain break followed and Naib not only returned to action but also picked up a wicket. Several fans on social media felt that he faked his cramps. The all-rounder was also seen running as quickly as he could in celebration as Afghanistan secured a semifinal spot in the T20 World Cup for the first time in history.
