India women's cricket team beat their Bangladesh counterparts by 44 runs in the first T20I of the five-match series at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, April 28. Chasing 146 to win, Bangladesh were restricted to 101/8. Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana was the top-scorer for her side, smashing 51 off 48 deliveries. Apart from her, none of the Bangladesh batters got going. India dictated proceedings in the second innings, with Renuka Singh being the best bowler for the visitors, taking three wickets for just 18 runs in her four overs. Pooja Vastrakar, Shreyanka Patil, Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav also took one wicket apiece. India now have a 1-0 lead in this series.
