On This Day in 2007: India Beat Pakistan via Bowl-Out After Match Ended in Tie at Inaugural T20 World Cup (Watch Video)
Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Robin Uthappa were on target for India in the bowl-out which they won 3-0 after Pakistan failed to hit the stumps in any of their three attempts. India also went on to beat Pakistan in the final of the tournament.
The inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007 was epic for many reasons, one of them being the famous bowl-out that determined who won the match between India and Pakistan. The game, played in Durban on this day (September 14), had seen India bat first and score 141/9 and Pakistan also matched that effort by the end of their 20 overs. India then went on to win the bowl-out 3-0 after Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Robin Uthappa hit the stumps. In contrast, Pakistan missed all three attempts, that came from Yasir Arafat, Umar Gul and then captain Shahid Afridi. This turned out to be an epic moment in the history of the India vs Pakistan rivalry in cricket.
