India won their first game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against Australia at Chennai displaying a brilliant all-round performance with both ball and bat. First they squeezed Australia with the spinners crumbling them for only 199 runs and then during the chase, despite being in a dire situation, powered themselves out of it riding on the brilliant knocks of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul and won the match registering first points on the table.
