The former Ligue 1 club filed for bankruptcy days after relegating to the third tier of French Football. The Premier League football club Liverpool owner withdrew from the takeover talks after Bordeaux's relegation to National 1. Bordeaux took to social media and shared a press release in which they mentioned the ongoing situation. Bordeaux have also mentioned the necessary 'restructuring' of the football club.
