The India vs Qatar FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers witnessed a massive moment of controversy when the Asian champions equalized through Yousef Aymen despite the ball going out of play. The incident happened in the 75th minute of the match when goalkeeper and captain Gurpreet Singh Sandhu saved a header from Aymen and the ball subsequently went out of play. However, the referee did not blow his whistle and Qatar's Al Hassan brought the ball back into play with Aymen putting it into the Indian net. The Indian players protested stating that the ball had gone out of play but the decision was not changed and the goal stood.
