Lionel Messi has joined the Argentina squad and began training with his teammates as they gear up for the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers. The FIFA World Cup 2022 winners would be seen in action for the first time in competitive matches since winning the title last year in Qatar. Prior to this, Argentina had three friendly matches, against Panama, Curacao and Australia. Messi's Argentina face Ecuador on September 8.
