India Women's National Hockey Team started their Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024 campaign with a win as they defeated Malaysia in the opening game at the Rajgir Sports Stadium in Bihar. India had the control of the game for the most of the time as they had 16 circle penetrations and 61% possession in the first half. But they scored just only one goal through Sangita Kumari and were not content with the scoreline. The second half saw things change as Deepika and Udita scored from penalty corners to extend India's lead. The final nail in Malaysia's coffin was put by Sangita completing her brace.
