Novak Djokovic had a heartwarming message for Roger Federer who was present in the stands at the Shanghai Masters 2024 final. The Serbian was defeated by Jannik Sinner 7-6, 6-3 in the contest with the former missing out on what would have been a 100th career ATP title. After the match, Novak Djokovic spoke to Roger Federer in the crowd at the Qi Zhong Stadium and said, "I wish you were here on the court playing with us. It is probably the first time I was playing in front of you, so I had an added pressure." Federer, who retired in 2022, appreciated the words that Novak Djokovic had for him. The Paris Olympics 2024 gold medal winner also thanked Carlos Alcaraz, who was present and seated beside Roger Federer during the match.
