Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat broke down in tears as she arrived back in India from Paris Olympics 2024. Phogat was welcomed by Congress MP Deepender Hooda and other wrestlers such as Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia. Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Paris Olympics 2024 after reaching the final of the wrestling 50 Kg women's freestyle event and had secured an Olympic medal for herself. However, due to being overweight ahead of her final bout and was disqualified which meant that she wasn't entitled to win a single medal. Vinesh Phogat appealed for a joint silver medal from the CAS but her plea was rejected.
