In a major boost to India's space mission, the Union Cabinet approved the Chandrayaan-4 Mission after its third phase successfully landed a lander and rover near the south part of the Moon. Along with this, the cabinet also cleared the Venus Orbiter Mission (VOM), the follow-on to the Gaganyaan mission. With the Venus mission, India aims to gain a better understanding of the Venusian atmosphere and geology and generate a large amount of scientific data probing into its thick atmosphere.
