TRAI has taken strict action against the entities engaged in spam calling by misusing the SIP (Session Initiating Protocol) or PRI (Primary Rate Interface) lines. Under the new decision effective from September 1, 2024, if any entity is found making spam calls, all of its telecom resources will be disconnected and it will be blacklisted by the Telecom Operators for up to two years. Further, TSP will share the information with other TSPs for disconnecting all the telecom resources given by them, barring them from getting any new telecom sources during their blockage period.
