New York City Mayor Eric Adams has unveiled the Knightscope K5 security robot to patrol the subway station in Times Square. The newest NYPD officer weights 400 pounds, earns $9 an hour, and works midnight shifts without complaint. K5 is a robot that will police Times Square's tube station at night. It has many cameras and two-way communication and is meant to discourage crime as well as capture crimes in the process. It also has a panic button that riders may use to alert police authorities.
