According to local police, on August 23, an Indian passenger bus carrying 40 people plunged into the Marsyangdi River in Tanahun district, Nepal. With the number plate UP FT 7623, the bus was travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when it veered off the road and fell into the river. District Police Office Tanahun’s DSP Deepkumar Raya confirmed that the bus is now lying on the riverbank. Rescue operations are currently underway to locate and assist the passengers. DSP Deepkumar Raya from the District Police Office provided the update and mentioned that further details are awaited.
