According to a recent tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter, the office of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida stated that North Korea fired a suspected ballistic missile on Wednesday. "North Korea has launched a suspected ballistic missile. More updates to follow", Fumio Kishida's post read. The South Korean military also verified the ballistic missile launch by North Korea, stating that it had launched "at least one ballistic missile towards its eastern seas." The launch by North Korea coincided with Kim Jong Un's visit to Russia to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding weaponry. The West is worried that a weapons agreement between Russia and North Korea, which would give part of North Korea's munitions stockpile to Russia in the latter's continuing battle in Ukraine, may be signed.
