The Holy See Press Office has announced that Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, will lead the rite of ascertainment of death for Pope Francis and place his body in the coffin at 8:00 PM (GMT +2) on Monday evening, April 21 (1:30 AM IST on April 22). The ceremony will take place in the Chapel of the Vatican’s Casa Santa Marta, where the late pontiff spent much of his time. The rite will be attended by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, the Dean of the College of Cardinals, along with family members of Pope Francis. Dr Andrea Arcangeli and Dr Luigi Carbone, the Director and Deputy Director of the Directorate of Health and Hygiene, will also be present.  The ritual marks the first official act following the passing of the spiritual leader of over 1.4 billion Catholics worldwide. In light of Pope Francis' death, the canonisation Mass for Blessed Carlo Acutis, initially set for April 27, has been temporarily suspended.
