After clinching a gold medal at the Asian Games 2018, wrestler Vinesh Phogat got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Somvir Rathi at the airport after she arrived from Jakarta from the mega tournament. The duo exchanged rings at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi in presence of the duoโ€™s family. Vineshโ€™s uncle Mahavir Phogat and Somveerโ€™s mother were there when the rings were exchanged. Mahavir Phoghat had even confirmed the news of her engagement to a Hindi newspaper. Since Somveer wanted to make their relationship official on Saturday itself and thus the two exchanged the rings at the airport itself. A few days ago, Vinesh was romantically linked to Indiaโ€™s Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra. Both rubbished the reports and slammed the newspaper. While speaking to the Times of India, Vinesh clarified that her sudden engagement was the outcome of the controversy with Neeraj Chopra to which she said, โ€œNo, it was nothing like that. For me, the article involving Neeraj doesnโ€™t exist. Somvir and I are friends or 7-8 years and the whole country knows about our relationship.โ€
