Aaron Finch is all set to take part in the third and penultimate Test against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The third Test starts on Boxing Day, December 26. Finch was hit on his right index finger by Mohammed Shami’s delivery during the second Test and was forced to retire hurt. The opener, however, is confident of playing the Boxing Day Test as he was cleared of a fracture.

Australia also named an unchanged squad for the final two Tests and that very much indicates Finch is all set to feature in the playing XI. “It’s a finger that I’ve broken before in Sri Lanka a few years ago. To have it hit three times pretty solid in a month, it just keeps blowing up. But it’ll be no problem for the game,” Finch was quoted as saying by The GuardianMichael Hussey Backs Hardik Pandya, Advises Team India to Consider the All-Rounder for 3rd Test in Melbourne

Resuming his batting after being retired hurt, Finch lasted just one delivery. He also did not take the field during India’s second innings. At Perth, Finch looked in good touch as he scored 50 and 25.

The four-match series is currently levelled at one each with two matches to go. India won the first Test at Adelaide by 31 runs and then Australia drew levelled with a 146-run victory at Perth. Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane & Others Sweat it out in the Gym; Jasprit Bumrah Strolls on the Streets of Melbourne Ahead of the Boxing Day Test (See Pics & Video)

Both the teams will be pushing for a win at Melbourne. The fourth and final Test will be held in Sydney from January 03 onwards.
