Eight members of the Indian cricket team including Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, MS Dhoni, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal reached Dubai early for the Asia Cup 2018. The BCCI wanted them to reach early so that they could adapt to the conditions of the country. The BCCI officials too had set up everything for the team in UAE. Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah and others will fly for the mega-event on September 16, 2018, as they have just arrived from the gruelling schedule of the recently concluded England series. Even the support staff including Ravi Shastri will be flying on September 16. Both India and Pakistan are slated to lock horns on September 19, 2018. The mother of all events will take place in Dubai and if all things go well for India and Pakistan the two could meet thrice in the tournament. One in the group stage, the other in Super 4. India and Pakistan could meet for the third time in the finals.
