Laurie Evans, who hails from England, registered the first century of Bangladesh Premier League 2019 (BPL 2019). The right-handed batsman achieved the feat while playing for Rajshahi Kings against Comilla Victorians at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The right-hander played a sheet anchor role and carried his bat through to score 104 off just 62 balls. During his stay, Evans smashed nine fours and six sixes. Evans was well supported by Ryan ten Doeschate who scored unbeaten 59 off 41 balls.

Ten Doeschate joined Evans in the middle with Rajshahi Kings tottering at 28/3. The duo then not only bailed their side out of trouble but helped them post 176/3 in their allowed 20 overs. This was Evans first T20 century. In earlier BPL matches, Evans batted in the middle-order and managed to score just 13 runs from five matches, which included two ducks as well. Evans has represented teams like Surrey, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Sussex, Kabul Zwanan, Multan Sultans, and Rajputs in T10 League.

Meanwhile, this was the second meeting between Comilla Victorians and Rajshahi Kings this season. Comilla Victorians won the previous encounter by five wickets. As of now, Kings have won three out of six matches and are placed fifth on the BPL 2019 points table.
