India’s modern-day "Wall" looked in his prime as he mustered his 23rd half-century on the Day 2 of the first India vs Bangladesh Test. The right-handed batsman, who came into bat at number three after the early fall of Rohit Sharma, looked in no mood to just tuck the ball. But instead, he was aggressive, scoring runs more rapidly in comparison to other days. He brought up his fifty of just 68 deliveries and also went to the landmark with a scintillating boundary. Earlier in the match, the Bangla Tigers won the toss and opted to bat on the first day. They got flattened for just 150 runs and put India on the driver’s seat. In reply, opener Rohit Sharma felt early but Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Puajara didn’t put a foot wrong and have already piled up 100 runs together. India, who thrashed South Africa 3-0 in their preceding Test series, continued their dominance in the longest format of the game and are all set to register another victory. Along with being the number one ranked Test side, they are also the pinnacle of the ICC World Test Championship points table and will seek to add another sixty points to their tally by clinching the opening encounter.
