Indian cricket team’s latest Test addition Hanuma Vihari has become the 26th player from the country to register a score of fifty or more in debut innings. Vihari, who became the 292nd Test player to represent India, scored 56 off 124 balls before he was dismissed. The last Indian to score a fifty or more on debut was all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who achieved the feat against at Galle in July 2017.

Vihari also became the fourth Indian to register a fifty-plus score in his Test debut innings in England. Rusi Modi (57* in 1946), Sourav Ganguly (131 in 1996) & Rahul Dravid (95 in 1996) were the earlier ones. Ind vs Eng 5th Test Day 3 Live Score Updates.

Vihari came out to bat at number six on day two when India’s score read 103 for four. The right-handed batsman then added the 51-run stand for the fifth wicket with captain Virat Kohli. At the close of play on day two, Vihari was unbeaten on 25.

The right-hander added valuable runs on day three morning with Ravindra Jadeja. The duo added 77 runs for the seventh wicket and took India close to England first innings total of 332 runs. At lunch on day three, India were 240 for seven trailing by 92 runs with Jadeja unbeaten on 41. England have already sealed the five-match Test series 3-1 and will be looking to make it 4-1. India, on the other hand, will be hoping to end the series on a high.
