The squads for the last two tests have been announced. After the conclusion of the third test at Nottingham, the BCCI announced the test squad for the remaining matches. Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari have been named for the last two matches. Whereas, the BCCI made a decision to drop opener Murali Vijay and spinner Kuldeep Yadav for the matches. Both Yadav and Vijay failed to seal a spot for the third test at Nottingham.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee met in Nottingham to pick the Indian Cricket Team for the remaining two Tests of the ongoing five-match Test series against England,” read the media release by BCCI. Prithvi Shaw has an average of 56.72 in first-class cricket with seven hundred and five fifties, He was recently in the news for his prolific innings of 188 runs against West Indies. He also made 62 against the England Lions at Worcester and 136 against South Africa A in Bengaluru.

Vihari also made headlines with his performance scoring 148 against South Africa A in Alur earlier this month. Kuldeep Yadav failed to Impress the electors with his performance at the Lord’s in the second test match. Ditto with Murali Vijay who could not let the bat do the talking.
