India Women Beat South Africa Women by 10 Wickets in One-Off Test; Shafali Verma, Sneh Rana Shine As Women in Blue Secure Dominant Victory
India's mammoth batting performance in the first innings was too steep a hill for South Africa to climb. Despite a solid effort, they fall short.
Displaying a dominant effort, India Women won the one-off Test against South Africa by ten wickets. In the first innings, India displayed a stunning batting effort with Shafali Verma scoring her maiden double hundred and Smriti Mandhana scoring a blistering century as well. India Women put up a record total of 603/6 in the first innings and declared. South Africa Women started strongly but Sneh Rana's spell of 8/77 wrapped them up for 266 and the Proteas Women got imposed follow-on. South Africa batted good in the second innings too with Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Luus scoring century, but despite of the efforts from both innings they could only get a lead of 36 runs. Deepti Sharma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Sneh Rana shared two wickets each. India chased the target down by ten wickets in the final innings.
