Number one ranked Test team, India, is all set for its new challenge. The Virat Kohli and co will take on England in the first of the five Tests at Edgbaston from August 01 onwards. India has been on England tour for close to a month now and has already contested in the limited-overs formats. While India won the T20I series, England walked away with the honours in the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series. The visitors will be looking to dish out a better performance than their last tour of England in 2014.

Ahead of the first Test, team India faced Essex in a three-day warm-up match which ended in a draw and now the team is sweating it out in the nets as the series opener approaches. Team India will have to make a couple of tough decisions like bringing in in-form KL Rahul in place of Shikhar Dhawan as they look to put up a decent show in England.  Series Opener Against India Will Be England’s 1000th Test Match, the Most for Any Team.

Meanwhile, BCCI’s official Twitter handle shared a video of players preparing for the first Test. “Watch #TeamIndia sweat it out in the nets as they gear up for the 1st Test against England at Edgbaston, beginning August 1,” read the caption of the video.

The match at the Edgbaston will be England’s 1000th Test and they will be the first team to achieve the feat. The hosts will be itching to do well in the historic Test. India, on the other hand, will be hoping to spoil England’s party.
