The BCCI told Times of India, that there is an ample of data required to be prepared to gauge the pacer’s workload. An official on the condition of anonymity said, “For someone of Virat’s stature, he can take a call himself and discuss with his franchise about his workload. The official also mentioned that he will play the important games in the IPL if he is fit but the IPL schedule is way to hectic due to a lot of travelling involved. “It will be great if he is rested keeping the World Cup in mind," the official further added. However, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma said he cannot afford to rest a key player like Bumrah if Mumbai reached the playoffs.
