ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is just a few months away and keeping in mind the mega event, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has expressed a desire to have the key players to be rested for the IPL 2019. The decision could be applicable to all the franchisees. Jasprit Bumrah, who is an important player in all the formats of the game could be rested for the major part of the Indian Premier League. The BCCI told Times of India, that there is an ample of data required to be prepared to gauge the pacer’s workload. An official on the condition of anonymity said, “For someone of Virat’s stature, he can take a call himself and discuss with his franchise about his workload. The official also mentioned that he will play the important games in the IPL if he is fit but the IPL schedule is way to hectic due to a lot of travelling involved. “It will be great if he is rested keeping the World Cup in mind," the official further added. However, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma said he cannot afford to rest a key player like Bumrah if Mumbai reached the playoffs.  MS Dhoni also said that IPL is the right platform for the players to get ready for the World Cup 2019.
