The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 Auction dates are confirmed. Rather, it will just be a day event, because a lot of franchises have retained most of their players and the slots available up for the grabs are comparatively lesser than what was last time. As per the recent media reports, 2019 IPL Auction is scheduled to be held on December 18.
The reports have suggested that it will be taking place in Jaipur, where it was earlier speculated, as per the latest notification by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). A total of 70 slots will be up for the grabs for the franchises, in which a maximum of 50 Indian cricketers, and 20 overseas cricketers will be allowed to be picked. Kings XI Punjab will be the richest franchise at the IPL Auction 2019, after they released 11 players from their squad. Second on the list would be Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have Rs 9.70 crores in their purse.
Other than Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils, and Rajasthan Royals would be looking to spend on the players to form their core. This time, the IPL Auction has been given a prime time slot – considering the rising popularity of the cash-rich cricket league. It will begin at 3 pm and is said to continue till 10 pm. The IPL 12 is also speculated to be organised of India this year, just like it happened in 2009 in South Africa, given that India will be conducting Lok Sabha Elections 2019 during the same window.
