There is still some time left for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 to be held in June. However, teams have begun preparations for that. India too have tried many players ahead of the tournament to strengthen their squad. However, senior player MS Dhoni’s form has been a cause of worry for team India. Despite his poor outings in recent matches, Stephen Fleming, the former New Zealand captain believes Dhoni should be in the Indian squad for the World Cup. MS Dhoni Aces Tennis, Wins Maiden Title in a Local Tournament in Ranchi on his Debut (See Pic)

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) coach feels Dhoni’s strength is immeasurable and he has an amazing experience. “I think India have enough options within their squad to include Dhoni because his strength is immeasurable. Watching him in the last IPL, his batting was as good as it has been. He needs to have the confidence to go and play like that in the One Day Internationals and I think the big stage is something he is looking forward to,” Fleming told Gulf News.

“I know he has targeted World Cup and the opportunity if he gets there he should. It’s funny isn’t it for a guy who has played so much that he still needs confidence and no fear? That is what Dhoni likes and he should play with confidence and no fear,” he added. After Mithali Raj's Letter to BCCI, Report Claims Cricket Board Official Opposed MS Dhoni’s Appointment as Captain for Asia Cup Match

Interestingly, Dhoni was not included for recent T20 Internationals series against Windies and Australia. It will be interesting to see whenever he finds a place in the squad for ODI series. Fleming, however, says it is Dhoni’s experience that will help India. “He has an amazing experience and he has got the ability to rise to the occasion. As you get bit older, you don’t pick and choose but you need big opportunities to be at your best,” Fleming said.
