Indian women’s cricketer Jhulan Goswami was honoured with a postage stamp on Friday (April 20) for her accomplishments in the cricket. Earlier in February this year, Jhulan Goswami became the first woman cricketer to pick 200 wickets in one-day internationals. She achieved the feat against South Africa at Kimberley during the three-match ODI series. Interestingly, last year, the 35-year-old surpassed Cathryn Fitzpatrick of Australia as the leading wicket-taker in women’s ODIs.

Meanwhile, the stamp, which was unveiled at the Calcutta Sports Journalists' club in the presence of former India captain Sourav Ganguly, features Goswami’s photo alongside Kolkata's iconic Victoria Memorial.

Former Australia cricketer Lisa Sthalekar took to Twitter and wrote, “How good is this!!! To commemorate the fact that Jhulan Goswami became the 1st player to reach 200 ODI wickets.”

Goswami has been instrumental in Indian women’s team’s success over the years. She was named as the ICC Women's Player of Year in 2007. The fast-bowler, who was born in Nadia, Bengal, made her ODI debut in 2002 and has taken 203 wickets from 169 matches so far. In the ten Tests, she has picked 40 wickets. In game’s shortest format she has been equally impressive bagging 55 wickets from 64 matches.
